Well after almost no snow this winter we have gotten two snow storms in less than two weeks. We have also been running ragged trying to keep the animals warm.. The temps yesterday morning fell down to -19 degrees below zero so we ran two extension cords down to the barn for heat lamps for the chickens. This is an attempt to save them from the frostbite that will freeze off toes and combs if the chickens are exposed for too long. I have lost two of my banties to the temperature drops they do not handle the cold temps as well as the larger breeds. I hope that it warms up some soon. I am more of a spring person and these cold temps give me cabin fever.
